There Will Be No Miracle

Post  Hayz.. on Sun Jan 13, 2013 5:05 pm

We as a species have already come close to depleting all of the petroleum resources that this planet has. As of the year 2005, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA) we have approximately( at least) 40 years worth left of oil supply and 60 years worth of natural gas.
This means that your great grand children may well live in a world without energy if we do not take action now.
People are hoping for a miracle. That somewhere someone will come up with a magnificent technological breakthrough that will save us all. But the fact of the matter is that unless we somehow manage to figure out nuclear fusion( which we have failed to do so after decades of trying) there will be no such miracle. What this means is that our hopes of hydro powered or solar powered cars taking the place of oil are a myth. This is due to the fact that the majority of cars that are driven namely SUVs are too big to be powered solely by the sun or biofuels or other such natural forms of energy.
The only way we can keep us from raping our world clean of fossil fuels is by learning to control our addiction to energy. The miracle that we hope for simply does not exist. All these things help, but the only thing that will really take a big effect is learning to use less oil. Failing to do so will may well lead to the depletion of all fossil fuels which may well be the cause of our demise.
